    25 May 2006 Session | 25 May 2006

Alexey Pichugin25 May 2006 the witnesses for prosecution continued to give testimony. Since some of these witnesses by unknown reasons did not come to the court, the session was held in a shorter mode and came to an end by the middle of the day.

Alexander Balashov who worked in 1998-99 in the security department of the bank „MENATEP“ was the first to give testimony.  Balashov stated that he communicated with Aleksey Pichugin duty-bound and the latter made a favorable impression on him. Balashov also remembered Balushkin (witness for prosecution who gave testimony in the court on 22 May 2006) and said that the latter executed lease of the service cars „Jeep“ and „Audi“ for his name.

Later the witness Agesaryan who worked as Head of Public Relations Department in law enforcement agencies in 1998 gave testimony. He told about the explosion in front of the doors of the apartment of Olga Kostinas parents in result of which nobody suffered. Later, according to Agesaryan, on suspicion of this crime the gang was arrested in Tambov the members of which were Peshkun and Korovnikov. As Agesaryan remembered, Kostina called Leonid Nevzlin the principal. However, the witness himself found difficulty to suggest a version of the reason for the explosion.

Then the court invited the wife of the accused Eugenie Reshetnikov. She said that his husband, who earlier worked as a rescuer and later as a worker in an auto repair shop, has been remaining without source of income since 1998. He made some money by car and weapon repairs. He has a conviction for theft of an automobile.

Later he started to visit some Shevtsov in Moscow  the witness recognized this person in the accused Tsigelnik. Reshetnikov brought small amounts of money from Moscow, as a rule 100, 200 or 300 dollars. He brought 1000 dollars form the last trip. Moreover, Shevtsov drew a militia certificate for Reshetnikov. As the witness clarified, that was for free use of public transport. Shevtsov also had some certificate but she does not know what kind of certificate.

Soon after the last visit to Moscow Reshetnikov disappeared and then he was arrested.

The court was also interested in the time of the building and sale of the cottage by the spouses,  and the white automobile „Niva“ belonging to them (the witness answered that it happened in 1990 and 1998 or 1999 respectively).  According to Reshetnikovs wife, they had to sell „Niva“ because of the financial problems (besides the money made by Reshetnikov, the family lived on the means the witness gained by sewing clothes for private clients, but that still was not enough).
